The 33Pool app is close to release, but it isn't in the App Store or on Google Play yet. Nothing below is something you can download today — this is a walkthrough of how the app will work once you download it, built from the app we're testing right now.
Rack up at your own table, go live, and let matchmaking find you a real opponent anywhere on earth. Every ranked match you play moves your global 33 Pool rank.
Ranked Play
Five steps, and the first two are one-time setup. Once you're up and running, getting into a rated match is a couple of taps and a walk to your table.
Step 1
Two ways in. Continue with Kick creates your free 33Pool account and links the channel your matches will broadcast on, in one sign-in. That's the one you want, because competing means streaming — the ladder is built on matches anyone can go and watch.
Continue as Guest lets you in without an account at all, to look around and to keep score at a table. You can move to a Kick account later without losing anything.
Step 2
One card carries the whole story: the ladder you're on, your rating, your rank and your win–loss record, with a badge when you've made the board. Every ranked match moves those numbers — beat someone rated above you and you climb faster.
Under your name the app tells you whether you're live on Kick. Leaders, History and News sit below it, and beneath those the app shows what's happening right now: how many players are online, how many are searching, how many are live.
Step 3
Pull up the drawer at the bottom and tap Ranked. The season is currently an open season across all table sizes: everyone is in one ranked queue, 9-foot or bar box, and every result counts toward the same rankings.
You're entered as ready now, so be at your table before you tap Find Rated Match — a match can start the moment an opponent turns up.
Ranked matchmaking is the part of 33Pool that a 33Pool Ladder membership pays for. Everything else — casual matches, keeping score, the standings, your history — is open to everyone.
Step 4
When matchmaking pairs you up, your phone lights up with Match found and turns landscape — the way you'll have it propped up for the rest of the match. Walk back to the table and tap At my table.
If you're not streaming yet, Start my stream goes live on Kick right from this screen. Then each of you checks the other's video and taps I see my opponent, so nobody starts a match against a camera that isn't working. A short countdown runs — a last chance to back out — and the match begins. No lobby, no scheduling, no waiting on an organiser.
Step 5
The match screen puts your opponent's table on your phone full-screen with the live score over the top, so you can see the shot they just took. When it's your turn, you shoot and score your own rack, ball by ball; your opponent watches your stream and agrees the round or disputes it.
If a caster has picked up your match, they keep score instead and the game goes out live on 33Pool for everyone else to watch.
Where You Stand
Turn the phone on its side and these two screens open out. Nothing is hidden behind a website login — the ladder you're climbing and the record you're building are both in the app.
Leaders opens the board for the season that's running, with the season itself in the sidebar and your own row picked out wherever you are in it. Each ladder gets its own tab, so you can see the 9-foot board and the bar box board without leaving the screen.
Standings are live: they move as matches finish, and the season's champion is decided when it closes.
History is every match you've played, won or lost, with the rating swing on each one and your season totals beside it — rating, rank, record, how many ranked matches you've played.
Because every ranked match is streamed, the rows carry links to the saved broadcasts on both players' Kick channels. A match you played weeks ago is still there to go back and watch.
Casual Play
Not every game needs to be for rating. Casual lets you pull a specific person into a match in about ten seconds — no queue, no rating risk, and no membership needed. See the full casual walkthrough →
You
Tap Casual, pick the table you're on — 9ft Table or Bar Box — and tap Create a match code. You get a short code with a countdown running on it, and Share code fires it off in any messaging app.
Your buddy
They open Casual, tap I have a code, and type the one you sent before it expires. Your screen sits on waiting for your friend to join until they do. That's the whole handshake.
Then
From there it's the ordinary match flow — check in, go live, play. The app labels it UNRANKED · NO RATING so nobody's confused about the stakes: casual records every statistic for both players — record, balls, points — it just doesn't move your rating or your global rank.
Or
If you're both standing at the same table, Open scoreboards skips the streaming entirely. Add anyone by name — they don't need the app — mark the rack ball by ball, and 33Pool scores it. Share the code and anyone can follow the scoreboard live. See the scoreboard walkthrough →
Coming Soon
Individual rank is only half of it. Team play is in the works with a rating of its own — a Team Rating your side builds together, kept entirely separate from the singles ladder. Here's the shape of what's coming.
Start a team, name it, and build your roster. As captain you decide who's on the team and who plays a given fixture.
Get invited by a captain or apply to a team that's recruiting — including teams on the other side of the world, because nobody has to be in the same room.
Team fixtures build your Team Rating — a rating the team earns as a unit and climbs the team ladder with. Your singles rating stays where it is, so turning out for your team never puts your own rank at risk.
Team play is still being designed, so the detail above will firm up as it gets built.
